Semester at another domestic or foreign institution
 
(1) In the third semester, students should complete an additional study phase at a foreign university (para. 2) or an extended academic project in professional practice (para. 3) (mobility semester). As an alternative, students may also take modules worth 30 credits from the range of modules offered in the master's degree programs of the Department of Economics (appendix 4) (para. 4). The degree program advisors assist students in selecting the modules to be combined (a specifically agreed upon curriculum).

(3) The extended scientific project in professional practice has a duration of at least 24 weeks. In the context of the extended academic project in professional practice, a practice-oriented task is worked on within a company, within an administrative body at the federal or state level, or in an equivalent institution/organization. In addition, for the extended academic project, attendance modules or online modules resulting in 10 credits must be successfully completed. The attendance modules must be chosen from the range of the elective modules catalogue of MWR (appendix 4). A total of 30 credits are awarded. Details are regulated by the “Ordnung über die Absolvierung des erweiterten wissenschaftlichen Projektes in der Praxis” (regulations about the completion of the extended academic project in practice).
