Equipment

Experimental studies for teaching, research and services performed on a variety of test equipment from micro to macro level. A clamping field with test and support gantries allows pressure and tensile forces of up to 400 kN to be applied.
In addition to mechanical material and load capacity tests, building physics studies can be carried out and materials artificially aged.
Essential test equipment is listed below.

Climate chamber

Various climatic chambers for temperature / humidity storage. Measurements of heat transfer through wall constructions against indoor climate are possible. The temperature can be adjusted from -80 ° C up to + 180 ° C and range from + 10 ° C to + 95 ° C The humidity can be adjusted between values of 10% and 98% relative humidity. Fast heating and cooling rates of up to 3 K / min allow rapid temperature changes.

Temperature cabinets

Temperature storage and solvent and detergent resistance tests are performed in a temperature cabinet within the temperature range of + 30 ° C to + 250 ° C. In addition to maintaining a constant temperature, it is possible to schedule different temperature programs with multiple ramps/increase and hold phases.

Spray chamber

The spray chamber allows the investigation of materials under the action of a corrosive medium. Especially components with metallic elements, corrosion can lead to severe material changes or failure of the material or joint.

Contact angle gauge Krüss DSA 25

The contact angle measurement is a suitable method for assessing the wettability of adhered surfaces. The size of the contact angle depends on the interactions between joining part and measuring liquid, wherein the contact angle increases with low interactions.
