Within the framework of the HET-LSA project, instruments were developed and implemented to facilitate the arrival and integration of our international students in Germany and at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.
In the state of Saxony-Anhalt, seven universities are working closely together as part of an alliance to drive forward the improvement of study conditions. In the Quality Pact for Teaching, the project "Heterogeneity as a quality challenge for studying and teaching: competence and knowledge management for higher education in demographic change" is being worked on in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. You can find out more about our network and the work we are doing here.
Since September 2012, concepts for the integration of international students have been developed at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences. The focus here is on increasing equal opportunities, improving academic performance, developing intercultural skills among teachers and students, and intensifying intercultural exchange. In recent years, various projects such as the Buddy Program and the "Welcome Sessions" have been realized.
At the beginning of 2017, our project entered its second funding phase. In this phase, more emphasis will be placed on the implementation of intercultural training courses for university staff, the further development of the digital awareness tool StudySkills, as well as the development of support services for the phase into the professional career of international alumni.
