The studio "Canale Grande - Oberschöneweide" in WS 2019/20 dealed with a quarter in south-east Berlin with an impressive industrial history (AEG, Peter-Behrens-Building) and a current transformation history - a change from "forgotten" district to "hip". World-famous artists such as Olafur Eliasson, Jorinde Voigt and Alicja Kwade have already settled down.
In 1906 Peter Behrens built the NAG factory in Oberschöneweide for AEG and electric cars were produced. The production ended in 1934. Time was not ripe. It will be investigated what "production" can be today.
It starts with energy production and ends with the recycling of waste. Production, work and environment must be reconciled. What is needed is the production location of the future.
Based on a masterplan that was developed from a cooperation with Zagreb University the topic was to design architecture in the center of the quarter.
