A merged reality playgrund for post-human future

Aim of the studio was to think on the future of work and to create an architectural space for it next to an old Trade Union Building (Volkshaus) in Leipzig. Volksgarten V.2 is a merged reality playground for the post-human age when people are alienated from the workforce.

The project is basically a place for keeping the people who dismissed by AI algorithms busy in order to motivate them to wake up every morning. Volksgarten will continue to perform the  function of creating a social space for workers from the past, this time for the unemployed. In other words, it will work as a “human distraction zone” where the unemployed will feel like they make themselves useful. This is a place where people will be able to design an another reality for themselves and live/play in it. By using the merged/mixed-reality technology, people‘s cyberexistence will become as rich and social as their real life.

The Merged-Reality Playground will be controlled by the Volkshaus algorithm, according to thedesigns of people. Playground is a shape changing topography which consists of two parts inorder to adapt the different game conditions that are created.
