Einmalzahlung200

The 200-euro one-off payment for students starts on March 15, 2023

The Students’ Energy Price Allowance Act (Studierenden-Energiepreispauschalengesetz) entered into force on 21 December 2022. Under this Act, students at higher education institutions, students taking a course at a trade and technical school (Fachschule) for which a prior professional qualification is an entry requirement, students enrolled in a vocational training programme at a full-time vocational school (Berufsfachschule) or trade and technical school (Fachschule) which lasts at least two years and leads to a professional qualification, and students enrolled in equivalent courses are entitled to a one-off payment of 200 euros due to the rise in energy costs. To qualify for the payment, you must have been enrolled at a higher education institution or in a course at one of the specified education and training establishments on 1 December 2022, and your domicile or habitual residence must have been in Germany on that date.

You will receive the access code to apply for the one-time payment through the SSC Student Portal after logging in with your university-wide credentials.

If you are no longer able to use your university account due to exmatriculation in the meantime, please use the user name and initial password according to your student ID (certificate of enrollment) to log in to the SSC student portal.

You can use this access code to submit an application for the one-off payment at antrag.einmalzahlung200.de.

In addition to the access code, you will need a BundID account and a form of electronic identification (eID) or your ELSTER certificate in order to submit an application.

Full details about the process and about how to activate your eID, set up a BundID account and submit an application can be found at www.einmalzahlung200.de.

Please note that you are only eligible to apply for the payment if you had a domicile or habitual residence in Germany on 1 December 2022. Regularly attending an education or training establishment in Germany is not enough on its own to give you a habitual residence in Germany if you live abroad (cross-border students). Studying abroad and thus living abroad for a maximum of two semesters does not affect your eligibility, provided that you remain enrolled at your education or training establishment in Germany during this time.

You can apply for the one-off payment immediately using a BundID account and your electronic identification (eID) or your ELSTER certificate.

In the SSC student portal, you will also receive a PIN from us under "My Studies > Student Service > Reports", see “PIN-Brief für Energiepauschale” there. You only need this PIN if you do not have a form of electronic identification (such as the eID function of your identity document, an eID issued by another EU country, or an ELSTER certificate). If that is the case, please create a BundID account using a valid email address. After you have received the PIN, you can then submit an application using the access code, the PIN and your BundID account.
