Process development for the extraction of lipophilic and hydrophilic extracts from the microalgae Tetradesmus wisconsinensis as raw materials for cosmeceuticals on an industrial scale

objectives:

• Development of a sequential cultivation and processing procedure for the extraction of lipophilic (canthaxanthin-enriched) and hydrophilic (bioactive amino acids, peptides, carbohydrates, vitamins) extracts from the green alga Tetradesmus wisconsinensis, which has been previously not investigated

• Biochemical and functional characterization of the extracts

• Transfer of the process for obtaining functional extracts with oral and percutaneous application from laboratory to industrial scale
