- January 2024: Summer 2023 we worked on an interesting project in my AR/VR bachelors degree lecture: Together with our styling department we created three virtual photo studios. We describente the process here in an interview. A video is also available.
- September 2023: We held a workshop "xR und Lehre" together with local companies and institutions. Questions were, how to use xR for teaching and what is important in this use case. We summarize the results in this brochure.
- May 2023: Juan Felipe Diaz Quintero finished his master thesis entitled "Development of a Didactic VR Tool for Minimal Invasive Surgery". A video is available here.
- September 2022: Yifan Shi finished his bachelor thesis "lathe in VR". Now we can simulate the whole lathe process in VR. Thanks for that and congratulations! Here is a video.
- May 2022: Mary Igbudu finished and defended her Master thesis in the field of eye-tracking in VR. Congratulations! We published a scientific paper based on that work on the 5th VR/AR Learning Workshop in Karlsruhe
Overview
The professorship "Ingenieurinformatik" (Computer Science for Engineers) exists at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences since February 2019.
Prof. Dr. Johannes Tümler is active in the field of applied computer sciences in research and teaching. For this he makes use of his personal 15+ year industrial (Volkswagen) and applied research (Fraunhofer) experience.

What is it?
"Computer Science for Engineers" acts as an interface between regular computer science and engineering disciplines. At Hochschule Anhalt it is situated at FB6 - EMW (the engineering faculty).

In general on the one hand it affects computer scientists that develop and research algorithms for engineers. On the other hand it is for engineers and designers that deal with computer science topics.
More precisely at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences it is relevant for all students at department 6 / EMW for bachelor (basics of computer science for engineers) and master (Augmented, Mixed, Virtual Reality) degree courses.
