  • Studium der Biochemie an der Universität Leipzig von 1991-1996.
  • von Juni 1996 bis Juli 2007 wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Helmholtzzentrum für Umweltforschung - UFZ in den Departments Umweltmikrobiologie und Proteomik.
  • im Juni 2000: Promotion im Fachgebiet Biochemie an der Universität Leipzig. Thema der Dissertation angefertigt am UFZ: Molekulare Mechanismen der Resistenz von Bakterien gegenüber Xenobiotika.
  • seit August 2007 wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für Bioprozesstechnik der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg in Kooperation mit dem Max-Planck-Institut für Dynamik komplexer technischer Systeme Magdeburg
  • seit Oktober 2019: Vertretungsprofessor für Mikrobiologie HS Anhalt.
