Für den Erhalt der Biodiversität hat die Europäische Union die Fauna-Flora-Habitat-Richtlinie (EU 92/43/EWG) erlassen, die ein regelmäßiges Monitoring bestimmter Tier- und Pflanzenarten vorschreibt. Rein konventionelle Monitoringmethoden sind zeit- und kostenaufwändig und liefern oftmals unpräzise Ergebnisse. Um dieses Problem zu lösen werden moderne molekularbiologische und massenspektrometrische Methoden angewendet, die Tier- und Pflanzenarten anhand ihrer Umwelt-DNA (eDNA) identifizieren. Das Projekt wird vom Europäischen Fonds für regionale Entwicklung (ZS/2018/03/91183) gefördert.
To retain biodiversity, the European Union passed the Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive (EU 92/43/EWG) stipulating regular monitoring of various animal and plant species. Solely conventional methods are time-consuming and costly and often produce imprecise results. Solving this problem modern molecular biological and mass spectrometric techniques are applied to identify animal and plant species with the aid of environmental DNA (eDNA). The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ZS/2018/03/91183).
