The Online Bridging Semester for Graduate Programs and Transition to the German Job Market is a program at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences with cooperation of all departments and is organized by the Department of Computer Science and Languages. It is an online certificate program designed for international students planning to enroll in an English-language master’s degree program at Anhalt University or at other German universities. The aim of the one semester online program is to build a strong academic, linguistic, and cultural foundation. In the Foundation Semester for Prospective International Students we teach you both language and cultural skills that will prepare you for your studies in Germany as well as subject knowledge that will prepare you for your intended degree program.

The  Online Bridging Semester for Graduate Programs and Transition to the German Job Market offers …

  • a module in which you will learn German. By the end of the semester you will be able to communicate on a basic level in your everyday life in Germany during your degree program (language level A 1). If you already have knowledge of German at level A1 (CEFR), you have the opportunity to expand your knowledge during the Foundation Semester and achieve level A2 (CEFR);
  • a module on Soft Skills, that introduces you to the culture and academic customs in Germany;
  • International Marketing, teaching you key issues associated with country of origin effects, international marketing decisions, and analysis of international marketing data.
  • In addition, you can choose two modules from a range of elective modules. If you choose modules from your future master's degree program, you might be able to transfer the credits earned to your subsequent master's degree program.

Requirements

  • University Degree

    A qualified university degree as e. g. a Diploma, a Bachelor or a Master degree with a standard period of study of at least 6 semesters (180 ECTS Credits) is required.

  • Language Skills

    English level C1 (CEFR), meaning either English language proficiency TOEFL (ibT) min. 90, TOEIC listening 490–495 and reading 455–495, CAE 180–210, IELTS min. 7,0 or equivalent.
