Most successful Erasmus Mundus program since 2007 - Food Sciences

Dr. Völkl (European Commission - EACEA "Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency") was pleased about the successful Erasmus Mundus program since 2007 and the implemented food science course. It has been in existence since 2007 and since then the course has been continuously developed and oriented towards the needs of the food market in order to train qualified academics and at the same time to live the multicultural exchange across countries. According to the EU Commission, this project is the most successful study program in Erasmus Mundus as well as Erasmus+!

Almost completely, despite the pandemic, the BIFTec 2019-2021 study program was able to personally receive its master's certificates and master's hats in Ghent on September 20, 2021. Enthusiasm, confidence and curiosity about the now following career path in companies around the globe - where also the 33 students from 23 nations come from - accompany the European Masters of the last year BIFTec.

At the same time, the newly enrolled 50 students of the second cohort BIFTec-FOOD4S (2021-2023) were personally welcomed and the baton was handed over to them by alumni and recent master graduates.
Students can look forward to a network of scientific competence gain at four universities in four European countries. Intercultural experiences, contacts, internships and teaching opportunities will enrich the study of sustainability, food safety and computer-aided food technology for Industry 4.0.

"We are looking forward to welcoming the students here at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in 2022 and focusing on sustainability in the grain, meat and dairy industries, as well as preparing them for business and economic challenges for the food industry of the future," says Professor Wolfram Schnäckel fom the Department of Agriculture, Ecotrophology and Landscape Development.
