Seventh International Metaproteomics Symposium

WELCOME

In 2026, we have the honor to celebrate two decades of Metaproteomics and one decade of Metaproteomic Symposia. Besides looking back the Seventh Metaproteomics Symposium from June 21–24, 2026, the symposium will provide a unique opportunity to meet in person and exchange ideas, research findings, and experiences across all areas of metaproteomics. It is a platform for learning from one another, developing new concepts, and building lasting connections within the community.

The topic ‘From single molecules to metabolic networks’ places emphasis on single protein sequencing as an emerging technology with potential revolutionize the field and on functional annotation including proteins of unknown functions and reconstruction metabolic networks of microbiomes. Both focal points span the complete field and are inclusive for all metaproteomic researchers and beyond.

The program will feature presentations from leading experts as well as emerging researchers. Participants will also benefit from numerous networking opportunities with colleagues from around the globe.

Everyone with an interest in metaproteomics is warmly invited to join us in Dessau (Germany) for a dynamic and inspiring conference that will help advance our understanding of microbiomes.

THEMES THAT WILL BE COVERED

  • Emerging methods, e.g. single protein sequencing
  • Microbiomes in health and disease
  • Environmental microbiomes
  • Microbiomes of human made habitats, e.g. food, technical systems, etc.
  • Ancient proteins
  • Integrative multi-omics, bioinformatics and modelling
