Saxony-Anhalt Day - We will be there!

Shaping the city and landscape

Designing lively, inviting open spaces: from planning to practical implementation.

The Freiraum-Werk showcases various areas of landscape architecture, including landscape planning, and invites visitors to join in.

What to expect:

  • Drawing workshop with students
  • Get to know perennial plants
  • Making spaces visible with AR and VR
  • Design your own garden with an interactive game
© Hochschule Anhalt / Jessica Fenzl

One tent, four exciting topics that interested visitors can get a taste of:

How does the planning of an open space begin? With the design concept , of course ! Even in digital times, this is still done in the traditional way with pen and paper. Everyone can try this out and get tips and tricks from landscape architecture students in a drawing workshop. In an interactive game, guests design a planting for their own garden to take home, so to speak. Various perennials are used to generate new creative ideas at the planting table. But what will the planned and planted plants look like in a few months' time? With your own smartphone and a visualization using augmented reality, the planting on the banks of the Saale is brought directly to life. And if you want to look beyond that, you will find contact partners on site in the remote sensing area. They will explain to visitors how drones are used in landscape planning and show what current applications there are in data collection.

If you need a break in between, there is a cozy lounge area with pallet furniture, plants and deckchairs that invites you to linger.
