"Slowly up, turn to the left, and back down"

“Lift slowly, turn to the left, and lower again.” Precise commands are essential on the construction site today. A total of seven trusses are being installed for the InFonaL hall area. Each one is 19.45 meters long and weighs just under 20 metric tons.

The trusses span the large hall area of the future research center. Two are already in place, and a total of seven are scheduled to be installed today. With each truss that is installed, the scale of the future hall becomes a little better understood.

The installation of the trusses also lays the foundation for the next phase of construction. Once they are in place, the ceiling structure above the first floor can be installed. “Starting next week, the ceiling above the first floor will be installed,” Gensch says, looking ahead. At the same time, additional intermediate floors are scheduled to be poured.

As a result, the construction site is changing almost daily. With the wide-span trusses in place, the large hall is beginning to take shape. And as early as next week, the shell of the building will continue to rise above it.
