Title: CHARMANT - Innovative characterization methods for current-carrying materials of new energy transition technologies
Description: The aim of the project is to develop innovative characterization methods with high temporal and spatial resolution for current-carrying materials and components of the core technologies of the energy transition such as photovoltaics, batteries, electrolysers and fuel cells. The focus is on the application of lock-in amplification for magnetic field measurements (MFI) and infrared thermographic methods (IR). The aim is to overcome existing sensitivity and resolution limits of MFI and IR methods and validate them with the help of other spatially resolving electrical measurement methods and accompanying simulations and modeling. Application examples such as defect localization in batteries or catalyst-coated membranes for electrolysis will be used to demonstrate the extended range of applications of the high-resolution methods.
