Stingray - Learning From Water
A Gallery Space For Contemporary ArtDreaming by the river, I dedicated my imagination to water, to clear, green water, the water that makes the meadows green. I cannot sit beside a stream without falling into a profound reverie, without picturing my youthful happiness. – Gaston BachelardComing out of the water, the Stingray, moves towards the cultural center of Como. Facing the Theater, the Duomo and the Ex Casa del Fascio, it freezes for a moment and is continuing its paths with lines in many directions. An inner line of the building is set through the two main attractions. The Piazza and the Lake. A thin water stripe is holding the relation between both and offers space for water sports, art and resting.
The Gallery gives the impression to be made out of a thousand pieces. Its direction seems unclear but tempting to be explored. The force of art shaped my design. Its power was unfathomable.
