Machining in virtual reality
Interactive simulation of a lathe in virtual reality
Various virtual reality simulators of a lathe were created as part of two bachelor's theses and an internship at the Department of Electrical, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences. The real lathe exists at the Department and is used in teaching: the functionality can now also be explained and tested on the virtual model.
In future, students will be able to learn how to operate the lathe in virtual reality before the real lab in the "Machining Production" module. This way, they will be optimally prepared for the real lab in the machine hall.
