System for laser beam melting - SLM

Topic: Investigation and qualification of lightweight components with internal lattice structures for load-adapted component functions

An SLM system is used to produce high-precision bodies with geometrically determined shapes according to defined geometric dimensions from powdery, shapeless starting materials. The powder is melted and built up layer by layer using a laser beam. The result is a unique degree of freedom in the production of bodies as usable components. This allows innovative components to be produced in a way that is not possible with any other process.
The aim of the project is to produce the best possible lightweight construction.
