Title: Pilot detection of forest habitat types using remote sensing data and methodological studies to assess the naturalness of the Harz National Park
Description: In the planned project, a survey of forest habitat types and a credits of the condition of montane to alpine acidophilous spruce forests (9410) and bog forests (91DO) in the area of the Harz National Park (Saxony-Anhalt), especially in the area of the Brocken massif, will be carried out using different remote sensing data. In addition, existing impairments and other quality parameters such as the degree of cover or vitality of the
forest stands are to be derived. Furthermore, the development of a methodology for classifying the closeness to nature of the forest stands and the classification of the areas into the various forest development phases is planned.
