WildLand

At WildLand, we follow the model of the green economy with the goal of positively integrating economics and ecology.

Our goal is to be part of a sustainable, resource-efficient, and environmentally friendly economy that has a positive impact on social and community life. Through our work, we aim to actively contribute to the preservation of biodiversity in our cultural landscape, in part to secure the livelihoods of future generations.

We are working on green innovations for both urban and rural areas.

Through our work, we aim to preserve and develop dynamic, livable, multifunctional, diverse, and identity-forming cultural landscapes. Our goal is therefore to contribute to the preservation of biodiversity and climate protection through a broad range of sustainable solutions and precisely tailored products. Customers can draw on a comprehensive range of offerings that fundamentally span the entire value chain in the field of nature conservation.

We focus on two business areas: wild plants and landscape management.

In our wild plant cultivation program, we produce certified regional seeds on approximately 4 hectares; these seeds are used, among other things, to preserve, enhance, or establish species-rich meadows and wildflower strips, as well as in private home gardens. We cultivate between 30 and 50 wildflower species, including meadow knapweed, field scabious, gamander speedwell, greater burnet, meadow hawk’s-beard, and keyflower, to name a few. During the 2021 summer season, the necessary seed stock for propagation was collected in nature reserves in Saxony-Anhalt. A collection permit is required for all species and for the collection itself, and each collection site must be documented. The harvested seed is sown in seed trays, pricked out once it has developed sufficiently, and transplanted into multi-cell trays. We currently have approximately 100,000 wild plants in the greenhouse, which will be transplanted into row crops starting in mid-May 2022 so that the valuable seeds can then be harvested by hand in late summer.

In addition to wild seeds and commercial offerings, we provide customized consulting services tailored to specific projects and stakeholders. This includes expert conservation advice on the use of wild seeds when establishing and updating conservation measures, as well as for detailed greening plans.
