Why study at the Department of Economics?
The Department of Economics in Bernburg offers highly attractive study opportunities at international bachelor’s or master’s level. Ongoing internationalization and a strong practical orientation are a direct response to the ever-increasing forces of economic globalization.
The department meets the needs of to the increasing internationalization of higher education through its joint international education programs. With 25 international university partnerships across 15 countries, the department offers numerous opportunities for semesters abroad and international student project weeks.

Quality of study and quality of life
The departments of Agriculture, Ecotrophology and Landscape Development (Dept. 1) and Economics (Dept. 2) are all located in Bernburg. Bernburg has been a university city for more than fifty years. Currently around 3,000 students study here, supervised by 53 professors. The Bernburg-Strenzfeld campus stands out with its high quality of life and its excellent study programs. A modern and well-equipped infrastructure, residence halls surrounded by green spaces, and numerous events and sports activities form the basis for this mix.

Bernburg campus is dominated by degree programs in economics, landscape conservation, ecotrophology, and agriculture. The campus is characterized by short distances, and those who study and live here can also make use of the numerous computer pools, the library or in the foreign language and communication laboratory for independent work in the evenings.
For those who get tired of studying, there is a large gym with a fitness room and sauna right next door. The restaurants "Hochschulkrug" and "U-Boot" are located on campus and offer both a variety of opportunities for culinary enjoyment and pleasant entertainment.
