Business Studies (B.A.)

Department of Economics

Course content and objectives

A solid, generalist business and economics education is the foundation of Anhalt University’s bachelor’s program in Business Studies. The program is clearly structured: a three-semester basic study period with compulsory courses followed by the elective modules for specialization. Students benefit from the close links with other degree programs such as Business Law, Real Estate, and International Business - they gain additional insights and international contacts. A twelve-week internship is also mandatory after the fourth or fifth semester.

The bachelor’s program conveys basic business and economic knowledge and skills. Students obtain the methodological foundation to apply their knowledge successfully in the practice, and they also train their cognitive and social skills. These interdisciplinary qualifications enable graduates to recognize problems specific to their professional fields. With a leadership style characterized by social skills, they can develop tailored solutions to these problems.

Whether they later go into human resource development, logistics, or controlling - the bachelor’s program in Business Studies offers many opportunities to enter into middle management at the European or global level. Those who want to continue to climb the career ladder can then complete the master's degree program in Business Studies.
