Course content and objectives
Graduates are able to understand how the property and real estate business relates to the economic and social context, and they can properly evaluate and actively use the functioning of the property and real estate markets. Building on a basic business education, students are trained to assess construction and real estate as well as make real estate evaluations and investment decisions. For this, they need special training in structural engineering and building services. In addition, cognitive and social skills are conveyed as interdisciplinary qualifications. These enable students to recognize problems specific to the industry and find solutions with social competence and leadership skills.
The program prepares graduates for work in national and international real estate companies, in public real estate administration, project development, or other areas in the real estate industry. Successful graduates can work in large corporations or in mid-sized and small companies, banks, insurance companies, public administration, and consulting firms. The program is also suited as preparation for freelance work.

Internship
The internship is part of the degree program and takes place in a company or an institution that corresponds to the goals of the degree program. If there are not enough internships available, exceptions may be made which allow the internship to be completely or partially replaced at the university with equivalent practical phases or projects.
Internships will be carried out according to the internship regulations of the degree program. The duration is at least 12 weeks.

General information
The official internship regulations of the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences apply to the internship in the bachelor's degree program in Real Estate. You can find the internship regulations below the internship section. The internship usually lasts 12 weeks and is completed during the non-teaching period.
-
Internship agreement with companies
Students look for suitable internship companies independently. If there are any problems, students can consult with the degree program advisor. Before the internship begins, students must finalize a written agreement with the internship company.
The "Agreement" form (Vereinbarung, only available in German) can be found in the appendix of the internship regulations of the degree program. In addition to the company, both the internship coordinator and the bachelor student must sign this document. The companies sign the certificate first.
In all cases, the agreement documents required by Anhalt University of Applied Sciences must be submitted. Contracts concluded between the internship company and the student that are not part of the university's internship documents have no relevance for Anhalt University.
-
Internship certificate of the company
At the end of the internship, the company has to fill out the document "Bescheinigung” (in German, internship certificate)" (see appendix internship regulations). This document records the student’s working hours.
-
Internship report
Students have to write an internship report for each completed internship (partial internship). There are no formal requirements in terms of layout and length. A basic outline may include:
- Presentation of the internship company,
- Report on the student’s main activities,
- Experiences during the internship.
-
Internship task
In the internship documents, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences describes a so-called "internship task" (Praktikumsaufgabe). Students have to complete this task once within the 12 weeks. Since the 12 weeks are usually completed in partial internship periods, an "internship task" must be defined and worked on in a partial internship in coordination with the university consultant and the internship company. This task definition must be attached to the respective internship report.
The internship task should be completed as follows:
- A specific task has to be selected from the range of activities of the internship, e.g. operating expense calculation in a housing company.
- Recommended outline:
- theoretical discussion of the respective content.
- practical execution of the internship task in the company. - Evaluation of the requirement and implementation of theory and practice.
-
Recognition of the overall performance during the
Completing the internship is awarded with 15 credits. Since the 12 weeks of the internship usually consist of partial internships, the following documents are required for each of the partial internships:
- an agreement
- a certificate
- an internship report
Students have to compile these documents in chronological order and keep them until the 12 weeks are over.
Once the internship has been completed, students have to submit the documents and record them on the collection form to the degree program advisor/internship coordinator of the BA program in Real Estate (IRE).

After the complete internship report has been processed, only the collection forms are sent to the examination office, which then recognizes the complete internship with 15 credits.
Students may retrieve the internship reports for their records from the degree program advisor/internship coordinator 2-3 weeks after submission.
There is no feedback given if the internship report is sufficient. If the internship report does not meet the requirements or individual forms are missing, students will be notified accordingly and asked to make corrections. Students can see the recognition of credits in the transcripts of records of the examination office.
