How to apply for the  VAAM Travel Grant (2 x 500 €)

Applicants must register by the early-bird deadline and submit an abstract till Feb 28^th, 2026 (23:59 pm, CET).

In addition, a separate application email must be sent to the conference email address including:

• Membership number or proof of VAAM membership
• Short CV
• Confirmation of PhD enrolment signed by the supervising professor

VAAM Travel Grant recipients will be selected by the Local Organizing Committee after the abstract submission deadline.

Note that the meeting organizer manages the registration and selection and payment of attendees who will receive support and not VAAM. VAAM Grant money will be issued to meeting organizer after the event and upon receipt of a completed claim form.

Eligibility

To apply for this grant, you would need to meet following requirements:

• · be a member of VAAM
• · be an Active Microbiologist
• · be presenting author at the meeting (oral or poster) 

This meeting was selected by the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) to offer grants for event participation for Early Career Scientists*.

How to apply for the Travel Grant (6 x 500 €)

Applicants must register by the early-bird deadline and submit an abstract till Feb 28^th, 2026 (23:59 pm, CET).

In addition, a separate application email must be sent to the conference email address including:

• Membership number or proof of membership in a FEMS member society
• Short CV
• Confirmation of PhD enrolment signed by the supervising professor

Travel Grant recipients will be selected by the Local Organizing Committee after the abstract submission deadline.

• · be an Early Career Scientist**
• · be an Active Microbiologist
• · be presenting author at the meeting (oral or poster)

**These are active microbiologists who obtained the highest academic degree - Bachelor, Master or PhD

• - less than five years prior to the application deadline date, or are a Master or PhD student. Periods of maternity/paternity leave, special leave or illness do not count toward this definition.

How to apply for the DGPF Participation Fee Grant for students/(2 x 350 €)

Applicants must register by the early-bird deadline and submit an abstract till Feb 28^th, 2026 (23:59 pm, CET).

In addition, a separate application email must be sent to the conference email address including:

• Membership number or proof of DGPF membership
• Short CV
• Confirmation of student/PhD enrolment signed by the supervising professor

DGPF Participation Fee Grant recipients will be selected by the Local Organizing Committee after the abstract submission deadline.

Note that the meeting organizer manages the registration and selection and payment of attendees who will receive support and not DGPF. DGPF Grant money will be issued to recipients or to the recipient’s institution (via which the recipient is registered), in case the institution has pre-financed the expenses after the event and upon receipt of a completed claim form.
