The aim of information security is to ensure the protection of data and services. Three aspects are at the forefront:
- confidentiality
- integrity
- availability
Absolute security can never be achieved; therefore, the special challenge lies in analyzing risks and choosing measures in such a way that optimally supports the university's objectives.
The misuse of information (software and hardware), networks, and computer systems should be prevented to comply with legal regulations and avoid damaging situations to the university's reputation. Consequently, a secure overall system is sought. The goal is to ensure a smooth teaching, research, and administrative operation at all times.
