Learning objectives

The bachelor’s degree program in Specialized Technical Communication – Software Localization teaches theoretical and methodological expertise in the field of translation, information technology and intercultural communication in order to enable high-quality adaptation of software products to foreign target markets.

Graduates will be able to adapt software products from current development environments to the linguistic, cultural and technical realities of a target market. They will have specialized language and translation skills in English and German and will be able to use language technology software.

Graduates will also become familiarized with various areas of computer science relevant to localization and they will have foundational knowledge of programming languages and paradigms, markup languages, fundamentals of human-computer interaction, fundamentals of software engineering, operating systems and databases, and they will be able to use this knowledge in the localization context.
