Preparations for the return
You should plan your return to your home country just as carefully as your stay in Germany!
Students from developing countries may be eligible for return assistance. These can be very different: there is help with setting up a business, transportation subsidies, temporary financial support and similar.
If you have made pension insurance contributions in Germany and there is no social security agreement between Germany and your home country, you may be able to have these paid out to you. If there is an agreement, you can make a claim later. However, find out about this before you return home!
Before you return to your home country, you should do the following:
- Deregister at your place of residence
- deregistration
- Cancellation of health insurance and telephone
- Close your bank account
- Contact the pension insurance company
You can downloadthe checklist "Before leaving Germany" here .
Apostille or verification of university-anhalt documents
The legalization of documents issued at German universities takes place in up to four steps:
- Pre-authentication at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (for submission to the State Office of Administration in Magdeburg)
- Issue of the apostille (legalization) at the State Office of Administration in Magdeburg
- Final legalization at the Federal Office of Administration
- Legalization at the responsible embassy
It is also possible to have documents issued by the HSA verified.
(If, for example, an employer or further education institution from abroad requires this.) Please read point 6 of the PDF.
