The degree program

Program length, campus and degree

The normal program length of the cooperative master's degree program, including the master's thesis, is four semesters and can be extended to 8 semesters.

Upon completion of the master’s degree program in Taxes and Accounting (M.A.), the academic degree "Master of Arts (M.A.) in Taxes and Accounting" is awarded.

In contrast to other programs, this degree program, permanently alternates between professional practice and theoretical training at a high level. Cooperation agreements link the university, the cooperating institution and the student. During the practical phase, the student is closely supervised by a lecturer of the university.

The master's degree program in "Taxes and Accounting" is a cooperative program subject to fees.

Students can usually enroll in the winter and summer semester. Theoretical knowledge, which can be directly applied in the work environment, is taught at the university in block seminars (one week per semester) and every two to three weeks on Fridays and Saturdays.

In the 1st and 2nd semesters, you will learn basic knowledge in applied business administration, finance, business law as well as basic knowledge in the areas of auditing and tax law. You will work on a practical case in the cooperating institution.

In the 3rd and 4th semesters, you will extend your knowledge of tax law and auditing and complete a seminar paper at the cooperating institution.
The master's thesis in the 4th semester completes the program.

Fees and payment methods

  • The total fee for the master's degree program is € 10,500.
