When I first arrived to Germany, I was slightly overwhelmed.

Everything was quite new and different, from the language to the differences in culture and lifestyle. However, I confidently overcame these obstacles with the help of my friends, family and University. I moved to Köthen and found good friends in my classes, who helped me to become a part of the German community. Thanks to the language courses at University, I was able to grasp the basics of the German language which helped me to overcome some parts of the language barrier.

Currently, I am mainly occupied with studying and conducting research for master’s thesis at Anhalt University. As an abroad student studying in Germany, I have personally experienced the challenges of navigating a new healthcare system in a foreign country. That's how I arrived to the idea to develop a mobile e-health application that would simplify and provide with healthcare information in a form that is familiar to foreigners. Since most mobile healthcare apps usually don’t have a wide range of supported languages, it can be quite challenging to navigate and accomplish certain tasks.

Thus I think having most resources available in both German and Ukrainian languages will greatly improve the interaction experience for foreigners, making it easier for users to communicate with healthcare providers and understand important health information. Later other languages can be added. Another important goal of the app is to provide users with a sense of community and support. The app will include a forum where users can connect with each other and share their experiences and tips.

Overall, the motivation behind developing this app is to empower foreign students in Germany to take control of their own health and well-being. Overall, while the academic expectations and rigor of my studies in Germany have been higher than what I was used to in Ukraine, I feel that I have grown and learned a lot during my time here.

Going abroad for study can be a challenging but ultimately rewarding experience. However, it's important to have support at times and to be open to new experiences and cultures.
