About the history of the buildings

Constructed between 1956 and 1957. Formerly a cafeteria with coffee shop (Kaffeestube) on the 2nd floor and event hall of the predecessor institutions of Anhalt University. History

The “Oberdorf-Halle” was built in the period 1987-1988, at the time of the then University of Agricultural and Food Economics (GDR). It was mainly used for sports purposes, but also as a conference and congress hall. The building was constructed as a type MT 90 HP and is one of more than 120 gymnasiums of this type built in the GDR. It was at the same time the largest standard type of all gymnasiums in the former GDR.
