Course content and objectives
The goal of the degree program is to convey extensive, deep knowledge and skills as well as methods of process engineering in order to enable the graduates to apply advanced scientific methods and insights in an interdisciplinary way. They identify weaknesses and develop tailored solutions. The master’s degree qualifies graduates to start a doctorate.
Based on the broad education, they are able to overcome challenges in research, development, and planning and to take on responsibility for a team. They also have good career prospects internationally. With a completed master’s degree, nothing stands in the way of a career in any successful industry in Germany: Depending on their personal preferences, they can start their careers in the food industry, the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, with energy corporations, in the medical industry, or in environmental technology. Other possibilities include apparatus and facility construction, biotechnology, the paper industry, the automobile industry, or the cement industry.

What is Process Engineering?
In contrast to process technology, which focuses on specific core operations such as mixing, separating, etc. independently from each other, process engineering considers the production processes as a whole. The interaction of the core operations as well as its improvement and optimization are of interest. In process engineering, computational concept design of chemical plants and subsequent simulation is very important.
-
What are my career opportunities?
Students will be able to apply advanced scientific methods and knowledge across disciplines, and will be able to identify problems and develop solutions.
The program is particularly suitable if you plan to take on management tasks within the process industry in the future.
The degree allows students to pursue a doctorate and provides access to careers in the German higher public service in public agencies.

How long does the application process take?
The question about the duration of an application process cannot be answered in a general way. First, your documents are checked for completeness. If your application is first checked by uni-assist, it may take some time until we receive your application. This always depends on the volume of applications.
If all documents are complete, you will promptly receive an offer of admission for open-admission programs (usually Bachelor). For courses of study with restricted admission, the department first conducts an aptitude test. Here, too, everything depends on the number of applications.

What makes the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, with its three locations, so special?
The Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, with its three locations in Bernburg, Dessau and Köthen, is not only connected as a university but also in its diversity of the academic education. At the "green" location in Bernburg, the focus is not only on nature and life, but also on economic aspects. The "creative" location in Dessau combines design, architecture and the construction and measurement of living space. Köthen, on the other hand, is the classic modern "engineering" location. By the way, the administrative heart of the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences also beats here.
