Mock Up Market Square Perleberg

  • © STG MLA, HSA

The public participation project aimed to find ideas for the design of the large market square. To this end, mobile trees (trees in tubs), street furniture and a water feature were to be tested and trialled for feasibility and effect at various locations. To this end, citizens were to be invited to an action day.

In the run-up to the event, teams were recruited from various areas of the city of Perleberg. The aim was to ensure broad participation from all age and population groups. Groups ranging from schoolchildren to city council employees and cultural and sports clubs will be approached and recruited for the event. In addition, Masters of International landscape architecture students from the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences travelled to the event under the guidance of Professor N.Uhrig to make their professional and fresh contribution.

The simulation game was moderated and open-ended. The focus was on the process and the joint discussion of the topics. Factors such as monument protection, historical urban development, visual axes etc. were also addressed on the day.” (StadtLabor)
