Official Start of the "ADApp" Project

On 31 March 2021, the "ADApp" project was officially launched in the presence of Minister President Dr. Reiner Haseloff, the Dean of Halle (Saale) University Medical School Prof. Dr. Michael Gekle and the President of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr. Jörg Bagdahn. The core idea of the project arose from the question of how people can obtain urgently needed medication when they are in quarantine at home and thus cannot go to the pharmacy.

The aim of the project is to ensure the quality of life of elderly people in need of care. In addition to care facilities or family doctor practices, the focus is also on people with limited mobility or living in rural areas.

The project focuses on the development, testing and evaluation of the pharmacy drone app (Apotheken-Drohnen-App). The Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is responsible for the logistical-scientific part as a project partner. "With the study program Logistics and Air Traffic Management and our research in these areas, we can contribute valuable empirical values to the ADApp project, which also relate in particular to the transport of urgently needed goods by drone," says Prof. Dr. Markus Holz.
