What? Data are the building blocks of our increasingly interconnected world. They provide valuable insights into the decisions and perspectives of individuals and open up opportunities for innovative research approaches. But how can you safely navigate the complex requirements of data protection during your doctoral studies?

In this practice-oriented session, Dr. Andreas Hanl, Data Protection Officer at Harz University of Applied Sciences, will explain which fundamental principles of the General Data Protection Regulation apply to data collection in your doctoral project, what rights data subjects have, and which obligations arise for you as a researcher. In addition to providing a template for consent forms, you will learn how to avoid potential data protection pitfalls, prevent data breaches, and build your dissertation on a legally sound data protection foundation.

Please note: The workshop is not suitable for doctoral students of the medical faculties due to the subject-specific requirements.
