Engineering and Management (M.Sc.)

Department of of Electrical, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering

Course content and objectives

Graduates with a first university degree in engineering are to be qualified in a targeted manner for management tasks at the middle and senior level under consideration of their previous professional experience. The five-semester program goes in depth especially into analytical-methodological skills so that in their desired management positions students can understand, analyze, and assess operational processes systematically.
Today, engineers must increasingly take on management tasks and leadership responsibility. However, this requires knowledge of all operational areas and the methods for shaping business processes. Typically, a completed engineering degree or engineering competence that has been acquired through professional work is not sufficient for this. Work in middle and senior level management also requires ever more subject and method expertise, for example in the areas of production, logistics, marketing, business law, controlling, and project management.

This career-integrated program teaches business and management-oriented content to provide the knowledge required by the job market. For more than twelve years, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences has been running this career-integrated program in Engineering and Management. This master’s program provides the tools for taking on management positions in companies and institutions.
