The APS is a joint institution of the German Embassy and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). It exists in China, Vietnam and India. The APS checks the authenticity of educational biographies and the corresponding educational certificates, and issues certificates if the result is positive. For these countries, the APS certificate is a requirement for applying to a German university.

The Blocked Account, or Sperrkonto, is a special type of bank account that might be crucial for different categories of people wishing to arrive to Germany. In order to get a German student visa and/or German student residence permit, one of the prerequisites is that the applicants can provide the authorities with proof that they have enough money to cover their stay in Germany for at least a year. And the Blocked Account is one of the best ways to do so! As long as the international students have opened a Blocked Account with an accepted Blocked Account provider in Germany and transferred the money requested by the German government, the prerequisite for the proof of finances is met.

Various scholarships are offered now and then by the international office (IO) but since the scholarships require certain criteria and the number of applications by students from the entire university is high whereas the number of awarded scholarships is low, it will be difficult/there won’t be any guarantee to obtain such a scholarship. Please check the information provided by the International office on the University Website regularly to not miss an opportunity. However, you may of course apply for external scholarships for example with the DAAD.
Yes, the 31st of October is the last date till which you can arrive in Germany and join the study program in Bernburg. If you don’t think you can make it until then please either consider a deferral to the next Winter Semester or withdraw your application before the 31st of October. You will get your Fee refunded if you have already paid it and are unable to arrive timely.
Already admited applicants who cannot start their studies for the first admission semester due to visa delays have the possibility to re-apply for the next admission semester via their already existing account in the SSC portal. (Students should refrain from re-registering on the portal!).
The new application can be created via the Burger menu at the top left under Studies offered (Studies offered) Studienbewerbung (Application) within the regular application period; the old uni-assist examination report and the leter of admission must be uploaded as the degree certificate/Master's entrance qualification.
The applicants have to wait and then reapply at the regular deadlines for the next year.
If applicants have not yet matriculated, they do not need to do anything else and can simply reapply for the next year. However, if they have already matriculated and only then decide that they cannot start their studies this year, the first thing to do is to return the application. MLA strongly discourages students to work part-time during the while working during the first year of their studies as the studies in the first year : 1st + 2nd Semester are intense and the schedule does not allow for the students to work and successfully finish their studies, moreover the students move out of Bernburg in the third semester to pursue their Internships and also get renumeration during this period, quite a few of the students then continue to work as Student-Employees at their offices and make some extra income that ways.
Please ensure that you have sufficient funds for a blocked account for the entire span of your Masters degree and do not depend on the chance that you can find a job to support yourself financially during your studies.
Once you are an enrolled student, you will receive passwords to all your digital accounts such as your HSA Student Email account, your HIS-QIS Account, your moodle account etc. Please always make sure to keep logging in and checking the emails/ notifications/ Grades on all these online platforms as these would be your main platforms for receiving information and communication from the University, Student administration and your teachers.
Yes, all Excursions are Mandatory and you will have to provide a doctors certificate in order to not atend. Yes please calculate between 100-300 Euros for Excursions every Semester.
