06.04.2027 Good research practice: Authorship

[GWP FM 1] Good research practice: Authorship

When? April 6th 2027, 12a.m.–2 p.m.

Where? Online

What? This short workshop for doctoral students focuses on the standards of good scholarly practice regarding authorship and publishing: Who can and should be listed as an author of a publication? In what order do authors appear on the publication? What are predatory journals? What should you do if you find an error in your publication? Early-career researchers deepen their knowledge using real-life case studies of research misconduct and learn how to publish responsibly.

Speakers

Dr. Christiane Hedtmann and Katja Czech (Anhalt University of Applied Sciences)

Note: Doctoral students at the doctoral centers in Saxony-Anhalt should note that, according to the doctoral regulations of the IWIT, Life Science, Architecture & Design Research, and Environment and Technology doctoral centers, they must provide proof of attendance at courses on “good scientific practice.” This workshop can count toward that requirement. More information can be found here. This online course is Focus Module 1 [GWP FM 1]. For recognition under the doctoral regulations, participants must complete two additional modules from the following selection (see graphic). Dates for these will be announced in the Graduate Academy’s calendar of events.
