Food Scientists - from all over the world

To dine together at the international table, to know how food is processed and sensory evaluated as well as to implement technology, economics and marketing in companies, this is what the students in the international Erasmus+ program European Master of Science in Food Science, Technology and Business (BiFTec) are able to practice.

In English, linguistic bridges are bundled. Lectures, practical exercises, excursions and presentations, the technological and business knowledge is transmitted to all in an understandable way, in order to offer specific knowledge about food to consumers all over the world with sensory and qualitative conviction.

Intercultural, scientific and productive experiences enrich the study - confirm the students after their Master of Science degree.

The study concentrates in the modules an intensive knowledge transfer within 3-4 weeks per module. During this time the students can get to know Europe. In Ghent, Porto and Köthen/Bernburg the module study takes place in equal parts in the first two semesters. In the third semester, experience can be gained during an industrial internship in companies. The fourth semester concludes with the master's thesis.

A steady increase in the number of students enrolled in this tuition-paying program - especially the proportion of self-paying students - confirms the convincing commitment shown by all involved. Enrolled in the class of 2018 - 45 students and in the class of 2019 - 33 students. (See chart, scroll to the right or left).
