Getting Started
When you arrive in Dessau, you need to take care of several things. These tasks include getting a German address as well as registering at the town hall, opening a bank account and organizing medical insurance. You also have to pay the semester fee, after that you can be officially enrolled. Please see the downloads below for more detailed information. Also see the link to the SSC portal:
After you have completed the paper work, you will get your student ID card as well as login data for your university mail account and for the online platform Moodle. You will need your new mail address to receive all important information during the semester and the online platform to keep an overview of your grades and credits.
Re-Registration
If you are a student of Anhalt University and want to continue your studies in the next semester, you will need to re-register. To do so, please transfer the semester fee of 1104,80€ by the deadline.
Re-registration periods:
Winter semester: August 15 until September 15
Summer semester: February 15 until March 15
If the start or end of the re-registration period is on a weekend or a holiday, then these deadlines can vary slightly.

If you do not pay the semester fee before the regular deadline (Feb 15 or Aug 15), please transfer the fee together with the late fee (€15).
Completing Re-registration
You can check whether your semester fee has been received and if you are officially re-registered in the SSC portal (around one week after the fee has been received). After that, you will need to update your student ID at one of the validation stations to have the new semester date printed on it. You can print out your current certificates of enrollment on your own using the SSC portal.
Accommodation
There are several options for finding an accommodation. Please note that the dorms are primarily for 1st semester bachelor students and for students under the age of 30. Hence you should direct your focus to private and public landlords. We are offering the contacts that we have below, please know that our abilities to assist you with finding accommodation unfortunately ends here. A limited number of furnished one-room apartments is available but it is not the general standard. You have to consider sharing rooms with fellow students in a larger apartment and you have to entertain the thought of buying some furniture. Some students also look for room mates or sell used furniture.
Pay special attention to the fact that some of the ads specify a limited time for rent, say 1 or 2 months and not the whole semester.

Student Dorms
The Studentenwerk offers dorms near the campus. Please keep in mind that the dorms are in high demand and are primarily directed at 1st semester bachelor students. Nevertheless, it is always worth trying to apply for a dorm but to also keep an eye open for alternatives. You can find information concerning the dorms here:
