What does studying feel like? What opportunities does studying in Bernburg offer? And what is life on campus like? Answers to all these questions can be found on May 10, 2025 at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences' University Information Day. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Campus Bernburg will open its doors to anyone interested in studying - from high school graduates and parents to prospective students and the curious.
The day begins at 10 a.m. with a warm welcome from the President of the university, Professor Jörg Bagdahn, in the cafeteria. Afterwards, guests can look forward to a varied program showcasing the full range of courses on offer. Professors, staff and students invite you to discover the university, exchange ideas and try things out for yourself.
The two departments will provide an insight into their degree programs: anyone interested in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Planning or Nature Conservation can learn more about the use of plants in landscape design or experience how biodiversity can be promoted on guided tours of the Strenzfeld Campus Gardens. Modern technologies such as augmented reality or mobile data acquisition are also presented and show how practical and innovative work is carried out in these areas. In the Ecotrophology study area, much revolves around the quality of our food. Visitors will learn why good honey starts in the beehive, how food analysis works and what microbiology has to do with our everyday lives. The laboratories of the Biotechnikum also open their doors and provide exciting insights. Insights into agriculture and its future can be gained on the popular field tours, which show how agriculture is adapting to climate change. Digital technologies and the use of artificial intelligence play just as much a role as sustainable cultivation methods.
The Department of Economics will also be presenting its numerous courses, from Business Law and International Business to traditional business administration. In addition, there are various taster lectures on the topics: "Business administration for beginners", or "When is a horse used? Just curious or an exciting legal question? There will also be a live introduction to the use of logistics drones.
Between the program items, the campus invites you to explore. During guided tours of the laboratories, workshops and grounds, guests will not only get to know the premises, but also the people who research, teach and learn here. Numerous information stands offer advice on all aspects of studying - from applications and student finance to studying abroad. The Studentenwerk Halle will also be on hand to provide information about student loans, housing and life outside the lecture hall. Catering will be provided.
