Internationalization Award

Aim of the prize for internationalization at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences

With this award, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences would like to honor the outstanding commitment of its university members who have rendered outstanding services to the internationalization of the university. Innovative international projects that have a particular impact within the university and its locations are eligible for the award, as are successful cross-border formats of cooperation in teaching and research.

The general aim is to permanently establish international study content and forms, thereby increasing the visibility of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences both nationally and internationally. This reflects our commitment to act as a cosmopolitan and modern educational institution, from which the quality of research and teaching benefits greatly.

The following measures and projects are considered particularly worthy of proposal:

1. international cooperation in teaching: projects developed in cooperation with international partner institutions that offer students international perspectives as part of their studies (Erasmus exchanges, teaching mobilities, reciprocal double degrees, COIL, expansion of digital and hybrid exchange activities).
2. internationalization projects: International research or teaching projects that have a significant influence on the cooperation landscape of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences due to their interdisciplinary approaches and global networks. (e.g. recruitment of excellent (junior) researchers. Acquisition of third-party funding for international projects, organization of international conferences or summer schools at the university)
3. intercultural event formats: Special cultural events or initiatives that promote dialog between different cultures and make them accessible to a large audience. Organization of events that promote exchange between urban society and international students at the locations.
4. integration and support of international students: programs or initiatives that help to successfully integrate international students into the campus and surrounding community or into the job market after graduation.
5. sustainable international networks: long-term cooperation and networks that promote the internationalization of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and foster sustainable relationships with partners worldwide.

Selection procedure

By recognizing and promoting such initiatives and the university members who initiate and nurture them, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences makes a significant contribution to creating an inclusive and enriching academic environment that meets the challenges and opportunities of global education.

Prize money- 2500€

The prize money can be used for international projects in teaching and research and is intended to support existing activities or new international collaborations.

The prize can be awarded toone or more individuals . University members, Departments and central operating units are entitled to submit proposals or apply themselves. The STURA can also submit proposals. In the case of an individual application, it is necessary to include at least one letter of support, but this should not be from a person in the same professorship.

Criteria

1. To what extent does the project / measure make a noticeable contribution to the internationalization goals of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in accordance with the internationalization strategy (important: Internationalization@Home)?
2. To what extent does the project/measure open up/preserve the prospect of sustainably establishing the internationalization goals pursued? Can positive effects in terms of the internationalization strategy be expected in the medium or long term?
3. How much impact does the project have on the university public/locations beyond those directly involved in the project?
4. What impact does the project have on teaching (and research) at the university? Is it interdisciplinary, either through direct project participation or through its impact on a wider range of participants (students, lecturers, staff, researchers ....)?
5. To what extent does the project even have an impact beyond the department or the university, i.e. does it strengthen the visibility of the university at a national or even international level, e.g. in the form of cooperation, but also in the form of outreach to non-university areas?
