Under the motto "Anhalt - cosmopolitan", Anhalt University of Applied Sciences invites you to the International University Day on Campus Köthen on October 8, 2025 from 4 pm. This year, the focus will be on Kazakhstan, accompanied by a diverse program that brings the university's international culture to life.

International culture with a face

Gideon Trendov from Macedonia is just one example of the internationality and cosmopolitanism of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences. He works as a research assistant in the Department of Electrical, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and is currently taking part in a scientific conference in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan with a group of students. This makes him part of Anhalt University's international culture, which is reflected not only in academic cooperation, but also in numerous encounters and colorful celebrations on the university campus.

Stage program as a highlight

The central item on the program of the International University Day is a musical revue, which begins at 4.30 pm in lecture hall 216. Students from Kazakhstan will join fellow students from China, Ukraine, Brazil and Turkey to put on a colorful program. Together with their German fellow students, teaching staff, the Schlosschor of the Köthen Music School and the band "La Liberté" of the Freie Schule Anhalt, they will present a colorful program that reflects the international diversity of the university.

Presentation of the DAAD Prize 2025

"Another highlight of the festival is the presentation of the DAAD Prize of the German Academic Exchange Service. This prize is awarded to students who distinguish themselves through outstanding coursework and are also remarkably involved in social and intercultural areas. It is endowed with 1,000 euros."

Focus on Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is not only the focus of the University Day. Anhalt University of Applied Sciences maintains close ties with Kazakhstan and has opened a branch office there in the city of Almaty, where the first students are enrolled this semester: 52 young Kazakhs are studying Electrical and Computer Engineering there These collaborations build a bridge to the colorful stage program, which shows that the university is international: Internationality is part of everyday life at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.

Almost 2,200 young people from abroad are currently studying at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences - including large groups from Bangladesh, China, India, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Vietnam.
