Under the motto "Young, colorful and innovative", Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is presenting a diverse hands-on program at Saxony-Anhalt Day in Bernburg's Wachgasse from 5 to 7 June 2026. In the "Designing cities and landscapes" workshop, everything revolves around the design of lively, inviting open spaces: from planning to practical implementation. The Freiraum-Werk showcases various areas of landscape architecture, including landscape planning, and invites visitors to join in.

One workshop, four exciting thematic focuses, in which interested visitors can get a taste of what it's all about: How does the planning of an open space begin? With the design concept, of course! Even in digital times, this is still done in the traditional way with pen and paper. Everyone can try this out and get tips and tricks from landscape architecture students in a drawing workshop. In an interactive game, guests can design a planting for their own garden to take home, so to speak. Various perennials are used to generate new creative ideas at the planting table.

But what will the planned and planted plants look like in a few months' time? With your own smartphone and a visualization using augmented reality, the planting on the banks of the Saale is brought directly to life. And if you want to look beyond that, you will find contact partners on site in the remote sensing area. They will explain to visitors how drones are used in landscape planning and demonstrate the current possibilities for data collection.

If you need a break in between, there is a cozy lounge area with pallet furniture, plants and deckchairs that invites you to linger.

Ten creative workshops on the banks of the Saale

A total of ten creative workshops are waiting to be discovered in Wachgasse. They pick up on the various subject areas of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and invite you to join in. How are new foods created? How is water turned into energy? How do landscape architects work? How can biotechnological processes be represented digitally? We will be exploring these and other questions on the banks of the Saale. We look forward to welcoming you on site.
