How does a successful company succession work? What challenges need to be overcome and what opportunities arise in the process? Answers to these and many other questions will be provided at the Succession Day on April 9 2026 at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences on Campus Bernburg.

If you want to gain new perspectives, make contacts and actively shape the future of the business landscape in Saxony-Anhalt together, a varied and informative program awaits you from 10:00 to 16:30 in the Innovationswerkstatt (Building 51 - Bernburg) on Campus Bernburg. In addition to representatives from politics and funding institutions, experienced practitioners will provide first-hand insights into successful succession solutions.

After a welcome address by the President of the university, Professor Jörg Bagdahn, and the Vice-President for Research, Transfer and Sustainability, Professor Markus Holz, Stefanie Pötzsch, State Secretary in the Ministry of Economics, Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, will open the event with a welcoming address.

This will be followed by an informative program: the Halle-Dessau Chamber of Industry and Commerce will shed light on the current situation of company succession in Saxony-Anhalt and point out possible solutions, after which a consulting firm will provide information on financing and implementing succession in SMEs. The Saxony-Anhalt Employers' Association will provide a practical look at typical pitfalls and possible solutions. After a coffee break, a presentation will be dedicated to the often underestimated psychological dimension of company handovers. In addition, there will be insights from the start-up consultancy and successful "best practice" examples.

In addition to the specialist presentations, the day will offer plenty of opportunities for networking: During the lunch break and in the supporting program, participants can exchange ideas directly with experts. A poster exhibition entitled "Succession wanted!", advice stands and a concluding panel discussion round off the program.

Interested entrepreneurs and companies are welcome to take part in the event. Please register at www.hs-anhalt.de/tdn
