Information about the degree program
Biomedical Engineering is an interdisciplinary and application-oriented degree program focused on the teaching of engineering techniques for solving biomedical problems.
The field of biomedical engineering ranges from modelling and simulating biomedical processes and designing electronic circuits in order to record and process bio-signals to building medical devices, for example, prosthetics.
All lectures are held in German language. Therefore, good German language skills are required for this degree program.
If you ...
- ... love creativity, enjoy solving puzzles and want to help people, biomedical engineering is the right place for you.
- ... ... like science, medicine and technology, the biomedical engineering degree program is very good for you.
Advanced courses in math and physics are not a must, as the course starts with the basics. Preliminary courses help to make it easier to start your studies.
Working in teams and enjoying implementing ideas are important to us. Teaching takes place in small groups, with close contact between students and professors.
If you would like to conduct independent research in projects and try out new biomedical equipment in laboratories, then enrol with us!
If you have any questions or would like to know more about the degree program, you can also contact us at any time.
Modern study conditions meet a family atmosphere in Köthen, and close exchange with professors is a matter of course. In extensively equipped laboratories, the biomedical engineering theory learned is applied in practice.
- Interdisciplinary and practical learning environment: clinicians teach basic medical principles, insight into the everyday clinical work of a doctor
- Familiar: cohesion, study meeting places, personal atmosphere
- International cooperation possible (e.g. Erasmus)
- Modern laboratories
- Central location, very good rail connections
