Study Surveying and Geoinformatics
The degree program pursues a high degree of practical relevance. By combining lectures with practical courses and lab/pool classes in modules, theoretical knowledge can be applied and tested in practical assignments.
The first to third semesters consist of compulsory modules on mathematical and scientific fundamentals, the use of information technology and the acquisition and processing of geodata. Continuing in the fourth semester, students study various modules which, combined with the selection of elective modules, also enable them to specialize in certain areas. Depending on their interests, students can specialize in geospatial data acquisition and analysis (engineering geodesy, evaluation technology, photogrammetry and remote sensing), land use management or geoinformatics. In the internship in the sixth semester, students acquire practical experience and establish contacts with the professional world. In the seventh semester, the focus is on working with scientific methods in projects as well as the final thesis (bachelor's thesis).
In all semesters, in addition to the technical content, students learn important general skills and abilities (so-called soft skills), ranging from foreign languages to presentation techniques, project management and business start-ups.

The Bachelor of Engineering in Surveying and Geoinformatics degree program is an internationally recognized degree that corresponds to a modern, future-oriented education at European universities. This represents a first professional qualification that offers graduates the opportunity to seek a career in the wide range of tasks in Surveying and Geoinformatics. Graduates with the appropriate qualifications can then take up a three-semester Master's degree course with us.

Whether as a map or plan, as a mapping application on a smartphone, as aerial or satellite images in Google Earth or as a navigation system in a vehicle - geoinformation is part of everyday life. Graduates of the Surveying and Geoinformatics bachelor's degree program are experts in geoinformation. Equipped with knowledge of the latest measurement and computer technology, they can record, administer, analyze and present geoinformation. They know how to use Geographic Information Systems in planning projects. The field of work is broad and varied. Mastery of highly complex measurement and evaluation procedures, the ability to use and adapt computer programs and an understanding of legal issues ensure very good career prospects in commercial enterprises, planning offices, the public sector or as a freelancer.
