Prof. Dr. Christiane Naumann took up her professorship for Entrepreneurship and Corporate Management at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences a year ago - since then, she has shaped teaching and research with an international perspective, practical projects and a special commitment to student start-up ideas.
The Department of Economics values her many years of international experience in business, education and academic teaching. Christiane Naumann has 20 years of professional experience, including from her work at Siemens AG, where she worked as a commercial project manager in international infrastructure and strategy projects. She has worked in Argentina, Spain, Hungary, Turkey and Switzerland.
Her teaching and research focus today is on entrepreneurship, innovation and international management of SMEs. She completed her doctorate at the Berlin University of the Arts on the topic of types of continuing education in the digital space. Even before her appointment, Professor Naumann was a lecturer at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences - including on the MBA International Trade (all courses taught in English) in Ghana. "International teaching was an important introduction to the world of higher education for me," she says. "I quickly realized how much I enjoy working with students - especially in a practical and globally oriented study environment."
On the International Business (IBS) bachelor's degree program, which she also supervises as a Degree Program Advisor, her focus is particularly on entrepreneurial thinking, applied projects and an international perspective. Together with the university's start-up center, she supports student start-up ideas and promotes the development of practical innovations.
In her first research project, she dealt with the integration of international specialists in small and medium-sized companies in Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia - together with Master's students, she is now developing workshop concepts for internationalization and intercultural awareness in another project.
"Many of my students have great potential - often they just lack the courage or the right network. I want to show them that they can shape things, that they can take on responsibility and that studying is an ideal place to try things out," says Prof. Naumann.
For the future, she is committed to networking interdisciplinary start-up projects even more closely with other departments such as Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science, as well as strengthening links with SMEs in Saxony-Anhalt in the area of knowledge transfer.
