On November 5, 2025, the time has come again: Anhalt University of Applied Sciences will award the Germany Scholarships 2025/26 to 35 dedicated students. One of them is Frank Maximilian Kraft, who is studying Agriculture at Campus Bernburg. For him, the scholarship is not just financial support, but above all recognition for his commitment to his studies and beyond.
The Deutschlandstipendium scholarship supports students who demonstrate special achievements in their studies and social commitment. It is endowed with 300 euros per month, half of which is funded by the federal government and half by private sponsors. Anhalt University of Applied Sciences has been awarding this prize since 2011, creating valuable links between academia, Economics and society.
"The scholarship means a relief for me and at the same time it is a great confirmation of my path so far," says Frank Maximilian Kraft. "I play the trumpet and drums in several trombone choirs and orchestral groups, am active in the Student Union and work as a student assistant on the side. I'm really pleased that this is seen and appreciated."
Kraft comes from Wolfenbüttel near Braunschweig. After leaving school, he initially trained as a farmer before deciding to study Agriculture at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences. "I got my tractor driver's license at 16 and worked on farms while I was still at school," he says. He appreciates the diversity of his degree course: "There are many exciting elective modules, for example on organic farming or renewable raw materials. That makes the course very lively." Thanks to the relief provided by the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship, he can concentrate even more on his final year of his Bachelor's degree: "I live in Bernburg, my parents support me financially, but the scholarship takes all the pressure off us. It gives me time to concentrate more on my studies and my commitment."
Kraft is sponsored by SKW Piesteritz, one of the leading manufacturers of fertilizers in Germany. "I already know the company from field days, but I haven't met the sponsors in person yet. That's why I'm all the more looking forward to the award ceremony and the exchange of ideas - perhaps this will also lead to exciting prospects for the future." There will be an opportunity for this at the award ceremony in the Köthen Event Center. From 3 p.m., sponsors and scholarship holders will have the opportunity to chat over coffee and cake before the official supporting program begins at 4:30 p.m. with the award ceremony by President Prof. Dr. Jörg Bagdahn.
