The KompetenzGrün project at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences invites you to guided plant walks on May 30 and June 3, 2026. Project staff will show how near-natural green spaces are created - and what they do for biodiversity, climate and people.
The first walk will take place on May 30, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the Bürgergarten Naumburg. The meeting point is the parking lot at Neidschützer Straße 3. The second date is on June 3, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at the Campus Köthen of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Bernburger Straße 55 - meeting point at the entrance to the cafeteria. Both walks last around 90 minutes.
"As a university, we bear responsibility - also for how we design our own spaces," says project team member Carolin Feimer from the Department of Agriculture, Ecotophology and Landscape Development. "With KompetenzGrün, we show that green spaces can be more than just lawns: they are habitats, climate buffers and places of learning at the same time. We also want to encourage others to think differently about their spaces."
Participants get to know selected wild plants, learn which plant species are suitable for near-natural greening and can exchange ideas with the project managers.
